On this page I would like to give you all a taste of crufts from a juniorhandling perspectiv
The 8 of march I was on my way to Birmingham with Benedikte Nergård. After a long journey we arrived in birmingham just in time for Norways big win with Jonna And her fantastic flat coated reteriver Almanza Far och Flyg also called "Simon". So we had a great evening celebrating them.
The following day was shopping day in Birmingham. And all of my girls where there. You can see all three of them having fun with the "bull". Oh my god the money can really fly. But me and Benedikte had to leave early to get to our hotel and the other juniorhandlers.
The hotel the juniorhandlers was placed on was in the middel of nowhere and about 1 hour journey from the show ground at the NEC. A big dissapointment to all the handlers from 37 nations.
On Friday was the official dinner with all the representativs from the kennel klub and all nations of juniorhandlers. Each juniorhandler held a short speak about them selv and their life and ambitions. The dinner was great and very informativ in many ways. The juniorhandlers got to know each other and extending gifts. Benedikte did a great job presenting her self her country and her life in general.
The scedual for the following days was presented and it was some tired teenagers in the bus back to the hotel that evening.
The following morning the bus went early to the NEC but me and Benedikte slept in and took a taxi later on together with the juniorhandler from Polen and his mum. That was the right thing to do because it was almost ten in the evening before the journey back to the hotel. They had to practice for the parade of all 37 nations in the main ring at the arena after all the group finals.
Then came the greatest day in every juniorhandlers life . Competition day on Crufts 2007. The pressure and nervs of 37 nations in two busses. It was a quiet journey to the NEC that morning. hmmmmm I wounder why.
We all arrived at the dog area, found our number and waited for Benediktes dog. Nobody knew wich dog they would get but when I saw Mr Phil Davis arriving I knew this would be great. and the Kerry bitch was exellent . Full of attitude and a real Kerry just like we want them to be.
Mr Phil Davis groomed her to perfection and it was an hounor for Benedikte to get to show her in the juniorhandeler of the year competition.
So thank you Mr Phil Davis for lending us "Perris".
Benedikte did an exellent job, had a great time and got a lot of new friends all over the world.
She did not win but for me and everyone who knows her she will always be a winner.
